Pansies & Violas

Pumpkin Succulents

Pansies & Violas

Caring for your pansies or violas:

Pansies & violas are very hardy & resilient! They enjoy cool temperatures & will even tolerate snow and mild frost. Your flower & fiber pot may be planted directly into the ground or into a pretty pot. Be sure to cover the fiber pot completely with soil. The perfect location would be outside in an area with morning sun & some shade in the afternoon. Water as needed. Your flowers may go away in the Summer but should return in the Fall!

 Hardy Succulent Care

(Hens & Chicks, Sedum, Stonecrop):
These tough, sun-loving plants are perfect for outdoor gardens and arrangements.
In the ground: Plant in a sunny, well-draining area like rock gardens, borders, or between stepping stones. They thrive in poor soil and are ideal for filling small nooks where other plants may struggle.
In pots: Use containers with drainage holes and a cactus or succulent mix. Great for outdoor tabletops, porch steps, or grouped in shallow bowls, driftwood, or even repurposed items like boots or bricks. Water sparingly—only when the soil is dry. These hardy succulents can stay outside year-round and will often multiply over time.

Pumpkin Succulent Care:

Place your arrangement in bright, indirect light — near a sunny window or under soft filtered sunlight. Avoid intense afternoon sun or dark corners.

Glued Succulents: Mist the moss lightly with water every 7–10 days (just enough to keep the moss barely damp).
Avoid soaking or pouring water directly on the pumpkin — too much moisture will cause it to rot. Your pumpkin can last 8–12 weeks or more, depending on temperature and moisture.

Once your pumpkin begins to soften, it's time to transition your succulents.

  1. Gently remove the cuttings.
  2. Let them dry for a day.
  3. Replant into soil for new growth!

Potted Succulents: Mist succulents with water every 7-10 days or remove your pot to bottom water.  Avoid soaking or pouring water directly into the pumpkin — too much moisture will cause it to rot. Your pumpkin can last 4-8 weeks or more, depending on temperature and moisture. Once your pumpkin begins to soften, simply remove the pot & put it into a decorative one for continued enjoyment.
